DURHAM, N.C. – The resumption series opener between Duke and Virginia Tech at Jack Coombs Field on Duke’s campus has been updated to a 3 p.m. start.
The Blue Devils, who hold a 1-0 lead, will be at the plate when play resumes with one out and a runner on second. Duke took the lead in the second inning, using three hits to cross the game’s first run. With the bases loaded, freshman Ethan Murray blooped a RBI single into shallow center field to give the Blue Devils the early lead.
The Blue Devils and Hokies will take the field at 3 p.m. ET, Saturday, to complete the series opener. Game two of the series will take place 45 minutes following the conclusion of the resumed contest.
