DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomore left-handed pitcher Matt Dockman earned 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District III First Team accolades as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) this week.
Dockman is one of three ACC players to earn 2019 Academic All-District honors, joining Clemson’s Logan Davidson and Georgia Tech’s Michael Guldberg.
Making his first appearance on a CoSIDA Academic All-District team, Dockman ranks second on the team in wins with four this season across his 15 appearances. The Hilliard, Ohio, native has recorded 27 strikeouts over 26.0 innings of work, averaging 9.35 strikeouts per nine. The second-year southpaw pitched 1.0 inning in Duke’s combined no-hitter in the series opener with Penn State.
Dockman is double major, majoring in mathematics and economics.
