DURHAM, N.C. – Duke steps away from ACC play for a midweek matchup against crosstown foe North Carolina Central Wednesday, April 19 at the Durham Athletics Park. First pitch is set for 6 p.m., on ACC Network Extra.

Wednesday’s contest is the second this season between Duke (19-19, 7-11 ACC) and NCCU (16-21, 7-8 MEAC). The Blue Devils bested the Eagles, 14-6, Feb. 21 at the Durham Athletic Park, breaking out for 12 runs on 12 hits over the final two frames. Sophomore Jimmy Herron and junior Justin Bellinger both homered in that early season meeting while sophomore Griffin Conine went 4-for-6 with four RBI.

The two Durham schools meet for the 21st time in program history. The Blue Devils own an unblemished 20-0 record versus the Eagles, including a 10-0 mark under head coach Chris Pollard.

Duke returns to ACC action this weekend, traveling to No. 2 Louisville for a three-game series Friday-Sunday, April 21-23.
