DURHAM, N.C. – Heading into the final week of the regular season, No. 10 Duke travels to Liberty for the final midweek matchup of the 2018 regular season. The Blue Devils and the Flames take the field for a 6 p.m., first pitch on LFSN TV.
Tuesday’s contest concludes a home-and-home series between Duke (38-12) and Liberty (27-23). The Blue Devils bested the Flames this past Tuesday, 5-2, at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Historically, the series is an even one between the two schools. Since 1989, Duke and Liberty have squared off 19 times with the Blue Devils holding a 10-9 advantage following this past week’s victory.
Duke enters the week as a consensus top 10 team after taking a series from then-No. 4 North Carolina over the weekend. The Blue Devils rank in the top 25 nationally in ERA and WHIP, while Duke also owns the third-best fielding percentage in the country.
Liberty most recently dropped a home Big South series to Radford, falling in the first two games before rebounding for an 11-10 win in the finale.
