DURHAM, N.C. – As the Duke Softball program continues their preparation for their inaugural season in 2018, we give you an inside look at the student-athletes that have cemented their legacy as part of the team's foundation moving forward.

For this weekly series, Blue Devil Network's own Rebecca Fiorentino will discuss the qualities and characteristics of each player with head coach Marissa Young, who, having served as an assistant coach at North Carolina, will be entering her first season as a head coach in the ACC.

In this week's episode, we highlight Las Vegas, Nev. native, Ashleigh Rodriguez.

As a junior, Rodriguez batted .402 with five doubles, three triples and 17 RBI. She was a first team all-Sunrise Region pick in 2016, and overall three-time all-league choice. Additionally, Rodriguez was a three-time co-defensive player of the year for Liberty High School in addition to playing for the Lil' Rebels travel organization. She also lettered in volleyball and bowling.

Young on Rodriguez: “Ashleigh is a go-getter in the outfield who takes pride in running down the ball or coming up with the diving catch to win the game.”
