DURHAM, N.C. – With their inaugural season just days away, head coach Marissa Young and the Duke Blue Devils will hold an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday afternoon at the Duke Softball Stadium with admission free to the public.
First pitch for the contest is set for noon ET. Saturday will be Duke’s final scrimmage before departing for Boca Raton, Fla., for the FAU “First Pitch” Classic. There the Blue Devils will open up their first season in program history with a doubleheader against Florida Atlantic Thursday, Feb. 8 at 5 and 7:15 p.m. Duke will also face Ohio State, Michigan State and Boston University to wrap up opening weekend.
Duke will then return home to open up home play with the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, hosting Penn State and Purdue, along with conference foe Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils will open the weekend against the Nittany Lions Friday, Feb. 16 (5 p.m.), then face both PSU and Purdue Saturday, Feb. 17 (2:30 & 5 p.m.) before closing the tournament against Purdue Sunday, Feb. 18 at 12:30 p.m.
