DURHAM, N.C. – A magical inaugural season will carry on into postseason play, as the Duke Blue Devils (29-25, 13-11 ACC) locked up the seventh seed in the 2018 ACC Tournament, which begins Wednesday, May 9 at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field in Atlanta, Ga.
Duke open its first ACC Tournament against No. 10 seed Virginia Tech Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Blue Devils faced the Hokies to close out the road portion of their first ACC season two weeks ago, bouncing back from a game one loss to take the series in Blacksburg, Va., with 5-1 and 5-0 victories. The winner will move on to face the No. 2 seed Pitt Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m.
All first round, quarterfinal and semifinal contests will be broadcast on RSN, with the championship contest on ESPN at noon.
Florida State earned the No. 1 seed after winning the Atlantic Division. Pitt, the winners of the Coastal Division, are the No. 2 seed, while North Carolina earned the No. 3 seed and Boston College the No. 4 spot. No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 6 Georgia Tech, No. 7 Duke, No. 8 Louisville, No. 9 Syracuse and No. 10 Virginia Tech round out the 10 participants in the tournament.
The tournament opens with No. 8 Louisville and No. 9 Syracuse on Wednesday at 1 p.m. before the Blue Devils and Hokies battle in the final first round contest.
