DURHAM, N.C. – Year two will march on into postseason play for the Duke Blue Devils (25-30, 11-13 ACC), as they locked up the sixth seed in the 2019 ACC Tournament and will open their week at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Fla., on Thursday, May 9.

Duke’s sixth seed bests last year’s seventh-place finish in the league and gives them a first-round bye for the first time in program history. The Blue Devils will begin the week against Notre Dame in the final game of day two at 7:30 p.m. ET. Duke opened the season against the Fighting Irish in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, picking up a 7-3 win to improve to 3-1 all-time against ND.

All first round, quarterfinal and semifinal contests will be broadcast on RSN, with the championship match being nationally televised on ESPN Saturday at noon.

Virginia Tech earned the No. 1 seed after winning the ACC regular season title. Florida State, the winners of the Atlantic Division, are the No. 2 seed, while Notre Dame earned the No. 3 seed and North Carolina the No. 4 spot. No. 5 Louisville, No. 6 Duke, No. 7 Georgia Tech, No. 8 NC State, No. 9 Syracuse and No. 10 Virginia round out the 10 participants.

The tournament opens with No. 8 NC State and No. 9 Syracuse on Wednesday at 1 p.m. before No. 7 Georgia Tech and No. 10 Virginia battle in the final first round contest at 3:30 p.m. Day two begins with No. 1 Virginia Tech taking on the winner of NC State/Syracuse at 11 a.m., followed by No. 4 North Carolina and No. 5 Louisville face off at 1:30 p.m. Second seed Florida State takes on either Georgia Tech or Virginia at 5 p.m., before the Blue Devils and the Fighting Irish take the field at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the day.

Should the Blue Devils advance into semifinal play, they will face either No. 2 Florida State, No. 7 Georgia Tech or No. 10 Virginia on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
