DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke softball team will host a family slow pitch game and cookout with coaches and players Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. All Triangle area Duke alumni as well as friends and family of current Duke students are invited to attend the event at Duke's Jack Coombs Field on west campus.

If you would like to attend, please email Trice Capra (beatrice.capra@duke.edu) with the number of players and their respective t-shirts sizes as well as the number of cookout attendees.

In the spring of 2014, the trustees of Duke University approved the addition of softball as the institution’s 27th intercollegiate sport. In August, Duke softball head coach Marissa Young and the Blue Devil staff welcomed the first five student-athletes to the program. Duke will begin competition at the Division I level during the spring of 2018.
