DURHAM, N.C.—Eight members of the Duke men's lacrosse team were recognized for their excellence in the classroom as well as the lacrosse team in earning All-ACC Academic Team honors as announced by the league office today. The Blue Devils led all schools with eight.

Duke had five repeat honorees in Brian Dunne, Danny Fowler, Kyle Rowe, Brad Smith and Thomas Zenker while Jack Bruckner, Joey Manown, and Cade Van Raaphorst each garnered the accolade for the first time.

Rowe is the lone Blue Devil and one of just seven on this year's squad to have been selected to the team at least three times. Manown is one of three freshmen voted to the squad and Smith and Van Raaphorst are two of eight sophomores on the 30-man team.

Notre Dame had seven picks, including 2017 Scholar Athlete of the Year Sergio Perkovic, while North Carolina, Syracuse and Virginia all landed five on the squad. Nearly half of the team – 14 of 30 – was made up of seniors.

To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

Duke finished the year with a 13-5 overall record and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. The Blue Devils were sixth in the final USILA coaches' poll.
