NETANYA, ISRAEL—Highlighted by a dominant 19-1 victory for the United States over Australia, the second day of action for Blue Devils at the 2018 FIL World Championship was a success. Along with Team USA, Puerto Rico scored a 17-3 win over Bermuda to move to 2-0 and Israel bested Russia, 19-2.

The United States came off of its rest day on fire and jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and a 12-0 lead at the break. Jordan Wolf and Ned Crotty both scored to put the red, white and blue up 5-0 in the opening 10 minutes of the game.

The defense, with the offense going on a 13-minute scoreless stretch, was superb and kept the shutout going into halftime. Wolf finished with a hat trick and two assists, while Matt Danowski had three assists. Will Haus, in a defensive midfield role, picked up two ground balls.

The U.S. is now 2-0 and sits atop the Blue Division standings. They play reigning world champion Canada on Sunday night at 7 p.m. (local time). The game will be broadcast live in the U.S. on ESPN2 beginning at 12 p.m. Eastern.

Giles-Harris, one day after helping Puerto Rico open tournament action with a shutout of Wales, picked up two ground balls en route to the 17-3 victory. In the two games, with Giles-Harris as an anchor on defense, has allowed just three goals.

Puerto Rico plays New Zealand next, Sunday, at 4:30 Eastern time.

Team Israel pushed its record to 2-0 with a 19-2 victory over Russia. Josh Offit, wearing No. 25 for the host country, netted a goal in the win to push his tournament total to three. Israel is back in action Monday, July 16 against an opponent to be determined.
