DURHAM, N.C. – Duke rising sophomore Maddie Jenner has been named to the 18-athlete squad that will represent the United States in the World Lacrosse Women’s U19 Championship this summer in Peterborough, Ontario.

In January, Jenner earned a spot on the 2019 U.S. U19 women’s national team training roster. She was also part of a 24-player training camp earlier this month before making the final roster Monday ahead of August’s championship.

A native of Annapolis, Md., Jenner is coming off of an outstanding freshman campaign that saw her rank second on the Duke squad with 88 draw controls in 17 contests. That total ranked her second in the Blue Devils’ freshman record book and sixth on the program’s single season list. The 5.18 draw controls per game ranked Jenner fourth in the ACC, and she combined with sister Olivia Jenner to pace a draw unit that was tops in the conference and second nationally.

Maddie Jenner also added 13 goals, one assist, four ground balls and three caused turnovers for her freshman campaign.

The World Lacrosse Women’s U19 Championship is slated for Aug. 1-10 in Peterborough. The U.S. makes its tournament debut Aug. 2 against Australia.

The U.S. has claimed four of the six previous World Lacrosse Women’s U19 titles (1999, 2003, 2007, 2011).
