DURHAM, N.C. - Sophomore Bryn Hammarberg was selected the Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week, after earning All-America honors with a 10th-place finish in men’s epee over the weekend at the NCAA Fencing Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. 

Hammarberg, who finished the first day of competition in 17th place with seven victories, closed out the final day strong, winning six of his eight bouts. Hammarberg notched 10th place with 13 wins, besting his 14th-place finish one year ago. 

As a team, Duke placed ninth overall in the team standings marking the seventh top-10 finish over the last eight years for the Blue Devils under head coach Alex Beguinet.
