Three Blue Devils Travel North for April NAC

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke fencing team will be represented at the April North American Cup (NAC) in Richmond, Va., on Saturday April 21-22 by redshirt freshman Ben Stone (saber), freshman Maria Papadopoulos (epee) and former Blue Devil and current volunteer assistant coach Leslie Marx (epee).

Stone will kick off competition Saturday afternoon in Division I Men’s Saber with registration ending at 1 p.m. Stone enters the competition as the No. 32 seed out of 101 participants.

Marx will then hit the strips Saturday afternoon in Vet-50 Women’s Epee as the top seed. In October, Marx claimed the title of World Champion as she captured gold in Women’s Vet-50 Epee competition at the 2017 Veteran World Championships in Slovenia.

Wrapping up the weekend for the Blue Devils will be Papadopoulos in Division I Women’s Epee. The Ashburn, Va., native enters the weekend as the No. 76 seed as registration will end at 8 a.m.
