Bustin's Take: “Lexi is a smart, skillful player. She knows the game and the skills necessary to prevail. Her game is ready for the Division I/ACC challenge and I believe we will see a great growth in Lexi's play."

What is your best field hockey memory?
LD: Winning MAPLs (our league) this year and coming from behind being down 3-1.

When did you start playing field hockey?
LD: Sixth grade. I played like it was literally ice hockey on a field, and I got lots of fouls and used the wrong side of my stick.

Who has had the largest impact on your life?
LD: My mom because she has always taught me to strive to be better, no matter what.

Why did you choose Duke?
LD: I loved how Duke expected excellence not only in the classroom, but on the field. I thought that this environment would help push me outside my comfort zone in all aspects of my life.

What are your goals for your collegiate career?
LD: Win a national championship.

Quick Hitters:
Favorite athlete: Tom Brady
Hobbies: Shopping, going to the beach, spending time with my friends, exploring, hanging with my dog
Favorite book: Milk and Honey
Favorite movie: John Tucker Must Die
Favorite TV show: Madam Secretary
Favorite musician: The Chainsmokers
If you were to play another sport, what would it be? Ice hockey because I started playing when I was three and I have always loved skating
Little-known fact about yourself: I was once a bat girl for the Red Sox
Best advice you've received: It's always a great day to have a day
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Working in sports with elite athletes

To be a part of the Duke field hockey program is … an unreal opportunity that I will never take for granted.
