DURHAM, N.C. – Duke All-American and recent graduate Heather Morris has been named an assistant coach at Lehigh University, as announced recently by head coach and Blue Devil alumna Caitlin Dallmeyer.
Morris joins Dallmeyer, formerly Williams, on Lehigh’s coaching staff following a senior campaign that saw her earn third team All-America, first team All-South Region and first team All-ACC recognition. She ranked third on the squad in points (25) and goals (11) and at the end of the season represented Duke in the 2016 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior Game. Morris served as the Blue Devils’ field captain for the year, guiding the squad to a 16-4 mark and the program’s first regular season ACC title.
A native of Pottstown, Pa., Morris cemented her place among the top scorers in program history, graduating ranked 15th overall with 32 career goals. She played in 85 career contests at Duke, guiding the program to two NCAA semifinals appearances in 2013 and 2015.
An earth and ocean sciences major at Duke, Morris was a four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad selection and a two-year member of the All-ACC Academic Team.
