DURHAM, N.C. – Following last weekend’s annual Alumnae Game and program awards banquet, the Duke field hockey team wraps up spring competition Wednesday evening in a scrimmage with Wake Forest. The exhibition contest is slated for 7 p.m. at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
The Blue Devils and the Demon Deacons will play two 35-minute periods Wednesday evening. The contest is open to the public and admission is free. Fan parking will be available along Broad Street and in the 705 Broad Street lot across Broad Street from the stadium.
Earlier this spring, head coach Pam Bustin’s squad hosted two weekends of scrimmage action, matching up against Appalachian State, Davidson, James Madison, North Carolina and Wake Forest. The team also faced the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill and traveled to Norfolk, Va., for exhibition contests against American, Richmond and host Old Dominion.
The Blue Devils return 16 letterwinners and six starters from last year’s squad, which r finished the season at No. 1 in the final Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Coaches Poll and reached the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament.
