DURHAM, N.C. – Head coach Pam Bustin and the Duke field hockey program are excited to announce the addition of midfielder Kiki Rozemeijer to the Blue Devils’ 2019 roster. Rozemeijer is one of six student-athletes in Duke’s freshman class.
A native of Santpoort-Zuid in the Netherlands, Rozemeijer completed her high school education at Mendelcollege. She spent the past four years competing at the highest level of hockey in her country with HC Bloemendaal. Her squad captured a U16 national title in 2014 and reached the semifinal round in 2016. HC Bloemendaal also were winners of the Goldcup Ladies first team this year.
“With Kiki comes a dynamic style of play, a great respect for the game and a strong sense of loyalty to her team and teammates,” Bustin said.
Rozemeijer has been a member of the Netherlands’ U18 national team since 2017 and was previously part of a district team from 2012-15.
“Kiki’s courage to leave her home in the Netherlands - to embrace a new and exciting opportunity at Duke where she will continue to play and learn - is admirable,” Bustin said. “We know that Kiki’s presence on the field and within her team over the next four years will have a positive and lasting effect on our program. We are thrilled and honored to welcome her to Duke True.”
Rozemeijer joins five other incoming Blue Devils in the 2018 freshman class.
