DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 16 Duke rowing team ends its regular season Saturday in Bloomington, Ind., for the Dale England Cup.
The morning session kicks off at 9:15 a.m., with the 2V4 followed by the V4 (9:30 a.m.), the 2V8 (10:00 a.m.) while the V8 rounds out the first session at 10:15 a.m. Following a break, the 2V4 will return to the water at 12:15 p.m., followed by the V4 (12:30 p.m.), the 2V8 (1:00 p.m.) and lastly the V8 (1:15 p.m.).
For each race in the V8, 2V8 and V4, a crew earns the following points for its team: 36 points for the winning V8, 27 points for second, 18 for third and nine for fourth; 24 points for the winning 2V8 unit, 18 for second, 12 for third and six for fourth; 12 points for the winning V4 boat, nine for second, six for third and three points for fourth. Should a tie occur, the fastest combined times from morning and afternoon sessions in the V8 event will be the tiebreaker. The team that earns the most overall total points for the weekend wins the Dale England Cup trophy.
Joining the Blue Devils at the event are the host Hoosiers, ranked at No. 14 this week, No. 20 Notre Dame and Penn.
After the Dale England Cup the Blue Devils have a weekend off of competition before the May 13 ACC Championship on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.
