PINEHURST, N.C. – Duke University sophomore Gina Kim made a late rally Wednesday at the North & South Women’s Amateur, but eventually fell in 19 holes to conclude her run at the Pinehurst No. 2 event.

Kim, who is from Chapel Hill, N.C., took an early 1UP lead through three holes, but her opponent, Gurleen Kaur, would win holes No. 5, No. 8, No. 9 and No. 12 to go 3Up. Kim wouldn’t back down as the 2019 All-America selection won holes 13, 14 and 15 to send the match to all square.

Both golfers would card fours on each of the next three holes to send the match to extras where Kaur would end up victorious on the first playoff hole.
