DURHAM, N.C. – The 18th-ranked Duke women’s swimming and diving team heads to Indianapolis, Ind., this week to take on the 2017 NCAA Championships, hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis and the Indiana Sports Corp.

The four-day competition gets underway Wednesday evening at the IU Natatorium and continues Thursday, Friday and Saturday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Finals sessions Friday and Saturday will be streamed on ESPN3, while Wednesday evening’s action, Thursday’s sessions and preliminaries Friday and Saturday will be streamed on NCAA.com and IndianaSportsCorp.com.

Live results will be available here throughout the meet.

The top eight finishers in each event at the NCAA Championships will earn first team All-America honors, while places nine through 16 will garner honorable mention All-America accolades.

ACC Championships Recap
The Blue Devil women finished sixth at the 2017 ACC Championships with a total team score of 725.5 points – up more than 80 points from a year ago. The squad concluded the conference championship with program records in three individual and three relay events. Junior Leah Goldman claimed All-ACC honors with a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, earning the second podium finish of her career in that event. Duke also qualified two relays to the NCAA Championships – its 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays.

Duke will send six swimmers and two divers to Indianapolis this week. In addition to qualifying four Blue Devils in individual events, the squad is also eligible to compete in the 200 and 400-yard freestyle and 200 medley relays.

Goldman was selected to the NCAA field for the third consecutive season while freshman Alyssa Marsh received an invitation in her rookie season. Divers MaryEllen Targonski and Mackenzie Willborn will make their first career appearances at the national meet.

Goldman enters the meet seeded 13th in the 100 butterfly (51.62) and 34th in the 200 individual medley (1:57.33) while Marsh is ranked 36th in the NCAA field in the 100 butterfly (52.43).

The group will be joined by sophomore Hunter Aitchison, sophomore Maddie Hess, senior Maddie Rusch and senior Ashleigh Shanley.

Recapping the 2016 Meet
The Duke women sent seven swimmers to the 2016 NCAA Championships in Atlanta, qualifying four Blue Devils in individual events. The squad also swam in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Goldman led a trio of Blue Devils in the 100 butterfly preliminaries, coming in 24th. Duke’s 200 and 400 freestyle relays both raced to 21st-place showings.
