MINNEAPOLIS – A day after earning honorable mention All-America honors in one-meter diving, junior Evan Moretti was back in action Friday at the NCAA Championships.
Moretti took to the three-meter springboard in preliminaries Friday afternoon. He opened his list with two dives topping the 60-point mark and closed the round with 66.00 points on an inward 2.5 somersault. With a total score of 336.95 points, Moretti placed 27th overall in the field.
Moretti and fellow NCAA qualifier Nathaniel Hernandez are both eligible to compete in Saturday’s platform diving competition at the University of Minnesota’s Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. Platform preliminaries are slated for 1 p.m., followed by the event consolation final and evening finals at 7 p.m.
