DURHAM, N.C.—One day after earning All-ACC first team honors, Duke junior Daniele Proch has been recognized for his work in the classroom, earning Google Cloud Academic All-District III honors as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

In his second year as a Blue Devil, Proch has made a splash in leading the charge on offense with 11 goals and 26 points overall to become Duke’s first player to earn All-ACC first team honors since 2015. He is the first

Proch, a native of Italy, got off to a hot start with five goals in his first three games, matching his total from 20 games in 2017. He continued to score for the Blue Devils, tallying a goal in six of seven games in the middle of the season. Possessing great instincts on the field overall, he also dished out both assists in the win over the Hokies. He currently ranks second in the ACC in goals and points and is four goals away from moving into the top 10 on the Duke single-season scoring chart.

In the classroom, Proch has been equally as stellar. He owns a 3.70 GPA as a history major and was named ACC Academic Honor Roll after his first year with the Blue Devils. He is one of 10 ACC players to earn spots on the 11-man teams across the six national districts.

Duke (10-6-2) is ranked eighth in the current coaches’ poll and will await its NCAA Tournament seeding Monday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. The selection announcement will be made on NCAA.com. The top 16 teams receive a first-round bye.
