Marcus Stroman

SP - (2012 Draft: 1st Round / 22nd Overall)

The 2019 Opening Day starter for the Toronto Blue Jays, Stroman has won six games on the season, and was recently traded to the New York Mets prior to the trade deadline. The right-hander ranks 15th in the MLB in earned run average with a mark of 3.07 (44 ER/129.0 IP), while striking out 102 batters. The former Blue Devil was selected to  the 2019 MLB All Star Game, but an injury kept him from participating.

Griffin Conine

OF - (2018 Draft: 2nd Round / 52nd Overall)

Conine has appeared in 55 games this season for the Class A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Lansing Lugnuts. The former Duke outfielder is batting .282 (60-213) across the 2019 campaign with 17 home runs and 41 runs scored. Conine's 17 long balls are tied for second in the Midwest League. 

Ethan DeCaster

RHP - (2018 Draft: 18th Round / 525th Overall)

DeCaster has appeared in games for the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Advanced A), the Toledo Mud Hens (AAA), and is currently a member of the Erie SeaWolves (AA). The former Duke right-hander has made 35 appearances on the mound across all three teams, owning a 2.49 ERA (17 ER/61.1 IP) with 61 strikeouts. DeCaster owns a WHIP of 0.99, while limiting opposing hitters to a .217 average across the 2019 campaign.

James Marvel

SP - (2015 Draft: 36th Round / 1087th Overall)

Marvel started 16 games in 2019 for the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Altoona Curve, before being promoted to AAA with the Indianapolis Indians. Through 22 starts, Marvel owns a 12-5 record on the mound and has tossed a pair of complete games. He owns a 2.88 ERA (42 ER/131.1 IP), and a WHIP of 1.01 to go along with 113 strikeouts. Marvel is a perfect 3-0 on the mound during his time with Indianapolis. 

Michael Matuella

RHP – (2015 Draft: 3rd Round / 78th Overall)

Matuella has appeared in 32 games for the Down East Wood Ducks, the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers. He currently owns a 5-2 record on the mound with a 3.57 ERA (14 ER/35.1 IP) on the season with 44 strikeouts and a 1.61 WHIP. The former Duke right-hander has also earned three saves on the season.

Jimmy Herron

CF – (2018 Draft: 3rd Round / 98th Overall)

The 2018 3rd round pick is currently playing for the Lancaster JetHawks, the Class A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, after being acquired in a trade from the Chicago Cubs. Herron has appeared in 92 games this season and has collected 70 hits, 17 doubles, four triples and four home runs.

Jack Labosky

RHP - (2018 Draft: 22nd Round / 660th Overall)

In his 2nd year as a professional, Labosky has played in 28 games for the
Class A Advanced affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays, the Charlotte Stone Crabs. In his 28 appearances, including one start, he has collected four saves, while posting a 2.50 ERA (14 ER/50.1 IP). Labosky owns a 1.07 WHIP and is limiting opposing hitters to a .244 average.

Andrew Istler

RHP - (2015 Draft: 23rd Round / 702nd Overall)

After appearing in 16 games with the Potomac Nationals, the Class A Advanced Affiliate for the Washington Nationals, Istler was  promoted to AA with the Harrisburg Senators. He started 2019 in Extended Spring Training with the Nationals. Istler was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Washington Nationals on August 31, 2018 for Ryan Madson. The former Duke right-hander has made 17 appearances with both teams, working 25.2 innings. He owns a 0.70 ERA, allowing only two earned runs. 

Bailey Clark

RHP - (2016 Draft: 5th Round / 164th Overall)

Bailey Clark is currently pitching in AA for the Tennessee Smokies, an affiliate for the Chicago Cubs. In 25 relief appearances this season, Clark has earned one win, four saves, 26 strikeouts, and a 1.47 WHIP.

Chris Proctor

C - (2018 Draft: 13th Round / 375th Overall)

Proctor is currently playing for the West Michigan Whitecaps, the Class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The catcher has appeared in 55 games during 2019 and has registered 52 hits, eight doubles, two home runs, 24 RBI and 26 runs scored.

Mitch Stallings

LHP - (2018 Draft: 30th Round / 892nd Overall)

Stallings is currently in the Atlanta Braves organization, pitching for the Danville Braves in Rookie Advanced ball. The lefty has made nine appearances this season, including seven starts on the mound. Stallings owns a 3-4 record with a 2.49 ERA (13 ER/47.0 IP), while owning a 1.13 WHIP. The southpaw notched a career-high tying 11 strikeouts in his start on Aug. 2, allowing four hits across his 7.0 innings of work against the Princeton Rays.

Zack Kone

SS – (2018 Draft: 13th Round / 384th Overall)

The shortstop has appeared in 64 games this season. Kone was playing for the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The former Blue Devil has collected 42 hits, eight doubles, two home runs, 15 RBI and five stolen bases on the year.

Kennie Taylor

OF – (2019 Draft: 14th Round / 418th Overall)

The former Duke outfielder began his professional career with the Kingsport Mets, the rookie level affiliate of the New York Mets, before being called up to the Brooklyn Cyclones. Across his time with the two teams, Taylor has registered 38 hits, three doubles, three triples, two home runs and 12 RBI while adding 16 runs scored to his totals. 

Ben Gross

RHP – (2019 Draft: 10th Round / 299th Overall)

Gross has made eight starts on the mound for the Elizabethton Twins, the rookie level affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. The former Duke right-hander owns a 3-1 record and a 3.99 ERA across 38.1 innings of work.
