Sarah Smoak enters her fourth year with the Duke women's basketball program and her third as the Director of Marketing and Assistant Director of Basketball Operations.
Smoak's responsibilities include organization of recruiting communication, on-campus recruiting, scouting opponents, over-seeing the program's marketing efforts, directing summer camps and developing program relations within the Durham community.
A 2006 Lynchburg College graduate with a degree in exercise physiology, Smoak came to Duke after serving as an assistant coach at Peace College in 2007-08.
A native of Charlotte, N.C., Smoak was a four-year letterwinner at Lynchburg, where she earned ODAC Academic All-Conference honors in 2005-06 and was named to the ODAC Senior All-Star team. A team captain as a senior, she was also selected to the Director of Athletics Honor Roll.
No stranger to Duke, Smoak has served as a basketball camp instructor for the Blue Devils on six different occasions and also performed an internship with the men's basketball program in the summer of 2005, assisting with summer camp. Smoak also worked for Nike prior to joining the Peace College staff.

One location I still want to visit is ... Either Fiji or the Samoan Islands.
My favorite parts of a game day are ... The team playing off of each other, being in the moment and the incredible energy!
My favorite types of movies to watch are ... Inspirational sports movies and romantic comedies. I am a sucker for those.
My favorite ways to relax and get away from everything are ... Hacking away at the driving range, going on a long run and spending time with close friends.
My best non-athletic talent is ... Creativity.
