  • Uncle, Bill Piwnica, played shortstop at the University of Minnesota from 1979-83 and earned All-Big Ten honors twice
  • Uncle, Mark McKenzie, is the head coach at Concordia University and coached the USA Baseball 16U National Team in 1998
  • Uncle Mark was also an assistant coach on the USA Baseball 16U National Team in 2008
