2013-14: Duke’s starter at 157 pounds … NCAA Championships qualifier … Registered a career-best 26-13 overall record … Went 15-6 in dual matches and 5-1 in ACC duals … Posted a 5-1 mark against Big Ten foes … Took third at the ACC Championships with a 14-5 major decision over No. 4 seed Sal Mastriani of Virginia Tech … Took sixth at the Hokie Open … Advanced to the second day of wrestling at the NCAA Championships … Posted three ranked victories and seven major decisions on the year.
2012-13: Competed unattached at 157 pounds for the first half of the season, going 15-4 in those bouts … took seventh at the Wolfpack Open and won the Ashland Open … wrestled in a Duke singlet starting with the Southern Scuffle … posted a 12-10 overall mark in the second part of the campaign … went 9-6 in duals and 3-2 against ACC teams … captured ACC dual victories over Maryland, North Carolina and NC State … closed out the regular season by winning eight of his final 10 bouts … voted the team’s Most Improved Wrestler.
2011-12: Wrestled at both 149 and 157 pounds ... registered a 19-20 overall record ... went 2-11 in dual matches at 157 pounds and was 17-9 in tournament bouts ... won The Citadel Open and took third at the Davidson Classic ... captured dual match wins over Bridgewater State and Davidson.
2010-11: Competed unattached … Posted a 7-6 record at 149 pounds … Registered three falls … Took fourth at the Appalachian State Open … Five of his six losses came by decision … Earned the Duke Coaches’ Award.
Prep: A four-year letterwinner at Rome High School ... compiled a 143-19 scholastic record ... captured the 4A Georgia State Championship as a junior and senior ... competed at 135 pounds his final two seasons ... lost just once his senior season, going 43-1 ... posted a 91-4 combined record in 2009 and 2010 ... won the regional title at 135 pounds his junior and senior years ... named the Georgia High School 2010 Wrestling Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior ... went 39-8 as a freshman at 119 pounds and had a 13-7 record at 130 pounds his sophomore season ... helped lead team to area runners-up honors in 2008 and 2009 ... a member of the National Honor Society.
