2014: Appeared in 23 games, starting 10 during his junior campaign … Recorded career bests in ERA (2.84), wins (8), innings pitched (76.0), and strikeouts (59) … Ranked fifth in the ACC in wins and second in runners picked off (7) … Earned his 12th career save in the season opener, recording the final four outs without allowing a run in Duke’s 7-3 win over Binghamton … Moved into the weekend rotation Feb. 22, starting his game of the season against Saint Louis … Picked up his first win of the year versus Marshall at the Caravelle Resort Tournament March 1, allowing just one run over 6.1 innings … Pitched a career-high 8.0 innings in Duke’s 3-2 victory over then-No. 1 Virginia March 8 … Allowed just one earned run while scattering five hits and striking out three Cavalier batters … Matched the UVa outing with a second straight 8.0-inning performance, yielding a lone run to lead the Blue Devils to a 4-1 win … Also recorded wins over NC State, N.C. Central, UNC Greensboro, Wake Forest and Longwood … Tied a career high with six strikeouts versus N.C. Central Apr. 16 … In 12 ACC appearances, went 4-5 with a 4.22 ERA.
 
2013: Duke’s primary closer during the 2013 campaign ... Made a team-high 28 appearances in relief ... Also started 11 games in left field, one in center field and one as designated hitter ... Went 3-6 with a 4.10 ERA and 32 strikeouts ... Led Duke with eight saves, the most by a Blue Devil since Alex Hassan also totaled eight saves in 2009 ... One of just six Duke pitchers to record eight or more saves in a single season since the stat was first recorded in 1969 ... Currently ranks tied for fourth in program history with 11 career saves and is two saves shy of tying the Duke career record of 13 held by Hassan, Vaughn Schill and Mark Sikorski ... Earned three saves in ACC games with a 5.59 ERA and 1-4 record ... Retired all four batters he faced to record the save in Duke’s season-opening win at No. 13 Florida ... Also picked up saves in Duke’s victories over Bucknell (Feb. 24), No. 24 Miami (March 8), N.C. Central (March 12), Charlotte (March 20), Boston College (March 30), No. 15 Georgia Tech (April 5) and High Point (April 24) ... Struck out a season-high three batters on four occasions ... Had a nine-game hitting streak from March 6 to March 31 ... Posted a 4-4 record with a 3.63 ERA in 23 appearances on the mound ... 23 appearances ranked as second-most on the team ... Four wins came against N.C. Central, Georgia Tech, Charlotte and Coppin State ... Amassed 35 strikeouts in 52.0 innings of work, good for fifth on the team ... Made his first pitching appearance at Texas Feb. 19 ... Picked up his first career victory Feb. 22 against N.C. Central ... Struck out a season-high six batters in 4.0 scoreless innings of work against Coppin State ... Pitched a season-high 6.0 innings in a start against Presbyterian ... Recorded three saves on the season as well ... First career save came against George Washington March 3.
 
High School: Three-year letterwinner at Wellington High School ... Went 7-3 with a 1.07 ERA as a senior ... Struck out 59 batters in 65.1 innings ... Hit .455 with four homers, 28 RBI and 30 runs scored on the way to all-county honors ... Also received an FACA All-Star Game nod and was named MVP of the game ... As a junior, went 7-1 with a 1.41 ERA ... Struck out 48 batters in 44.2 innings as a junior ... Hit .500 with 19 RBI and 26 runs scored while earning all-county honors for the first time ... During sophomore season, went 3-4 with a 3.13 ERA and was named all-district ... Hit .409 with five homers and 16 RBI ... Graduated among the top 10 percent of his class.
