DURHAM, N.C. - Trailing 11-0 late in game two of the Duke Baseball Fall Classic, Team Swag scored 12 runs over the final four innings for a 12-11 win over Team Dynasty on Thursday night at Jack Coombs Field. The win for Team Swag evened the series at one game apiece.

Junior Marcus Stroman was dominant on the mound for Team Dynasty, striking out six batters and allowing just one hit in five shutout innings. Stroman, who did not issue a walk, left with the 11-0 lead after his strong start.

Team Dynasty grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Junior Jeff Kremer singled to start the game before scoring on an RBI-triple by freshman Grant McCabe. McCabe then scored on an RBI-groundout by senior Will Piwnica-Worms.

Kremer added a two-out RBI-single in the top of the second to push the Dynasty lead to 3-0.

A seven-run fourth inning extended the Dynasty lead to 10-0. After Kremer and McCabe hit back-to-back one-out singles and Piwnica-Worms walked to load the bases, sophomore Aaron Cohn laced a three-run triple to right. Sophomore Matt Berezo then singled to left to drive in Cohn. After junior Ryan Munger was hit by a pitch, freshman Reed Anthes delivered an RBI-single to plate Berezo. Freshman Sarkis Ohanian followed with an RBI-single of his own and Kremer capped the frame with a run-scoring sacrifice fly to center.

In the top of the fifth, Berezo added an RBI-double to make it an 11-0 ballgame.

Team Swag started their comeback in the bottom of the sixth, scoring three runs to cut the lead to 11-3. Freshman Andrew Istler led off the inning with a single. Two batters later, sophomore David Perkins doubled down the left field line to drive in Istler. Sophomore Angelo LaBruna then reached on an error before sophomore Mike Rosenfeld delivered a two-run double to right center.

Swag followed their three-run sixth with a five-run seventh inning, making the score 11-8. Following a leadoff single by freshman Andy Perez, Istler doubled to the gap in right center. Sophomore Chris Marconcini then lined an RBI-single to center to plate Perez. Two batters later, Perkins drove in Istler with an RBI-single. After LaBruna was hit by a pitch, Rosenfeld drew a bases loaded walk to score Marconcini. Perkins would later score on a passed ball before sophomore Anthony D'Alessandro drove in LaBruna with an RBI-groundout to cap the inning.

LaBruna added a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth to make it a one-run game at 11-10.

Perez drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the ninth before moving to second on a sacrifice bunt by Istler. After Marconcini reached on an error, sophomore Jordan Betts delivered an RBI-single to left to tie the game at 11-all. Perkins would then single to load the bases. The game then ended when LaBruna was hit by a pitch, scoring Marconcini and giving Swag the 12-11 victory.

Perkins finished 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored to lead Swag at the plate. Istler and Marconcini had two hits and three runs scored each, while Rosenfeld had a double and three RBI. LaBruna added two hits, two RBI and two runs scored in the win.

Sophomore Josh Ruffin pitched well for Team Swag, holding Dynasty to one run on two hits in four innings out of the bullpen. Freshman Garrett Hayward then pitched the final 1.2 innings without allowing a hit or run to earn the win.

Cohn's three-run triple highlighted Dynasty's offensive night. Kremer and Berezo both had three hits, while McCabe and Ohanian added two hits in the game.

Game three is set for Friday morning at Jack Coombs Field.
