DURHAM, N.C. -The Duke University wrestling team posted four victories today in a 22-12 setback to 17th-ranked Maryland in ACC wrestling action at Comcast Pavilion. The Blue Devils earned wins at 125, 141, 165 and 184 pounds.

Duke (3-7) had its three-match win streak stopped by the No. 17 Terrapins as Maryland improved to 14-1 overall. Eight of the 10 matches were decisions with Maryland getting one major decision and a forfeit for extra points in the other two bouts.

Freshman Tanner Hough pushed his win streak to six matches, earning a 1-0 decision over Louis Mascola at 141 pounds. The match remained scoreless through the first five minutes before the rookie Blue Devil registered an escape to pick up his team-best 21st win of the year.

At 125 pounds, redshirt junior Peter Terrezza started the match with a 6-1 decision over Jenkins Monzey. The victory was his fourth straight and 17th of the season. Terrezza picked up a takedown in the opening 14 seconds, added another point in the second period and closed out the bout with a takedown and a single point for riding time for the five-point win.

Redshirt freshman Brandon Gambucci had an outstanding effort in a narrow 7-6 loss. Trailing 4-3 after five minutes of action, Gambucci and Maryland's Joey Boone traded points in the final session, but Gambucci's late reversal wasn't enough to overcome a four-point deficit.

Duke also garnered three points at 165 pounds from sophomore Ryan Harding. He jumped out to a 3-1 advantage after two periods and added three more points in the final two minutes to capture the 8-4 decision over Shawn Mazzarone. Harding earned his 19th win of the year and fifth dual match victory of the year.

Redshirt junior Diego Bencomo rounded out Duke's winners with a convincing 11-5 victory at 184 pounds. The Phoenix native raced out to a 7-3 lead in the first period and cruised to his eighth win of the season.

Duke returns to action, Friday, February 17 against NC State and Ohio University in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Live scoring of the matches will be available at GoDuke.com.
