CLEVELAND, Ohio – Following 36 holes of stroke play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur, Duke University incoming freshman Celine Boutier placed tied for 14th overall with a total of 143 at the 6,512-yard, par 72 The Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio.

Boutier, who is a native of Montrouge, France, carded rounds of 72 and 71 over the first two days and trailed the individual leader Hyo-Joo Kim by seven strokes.  She totaled four birdies over her final 12 holes on Tuesday to post her one-under-par, 71. 

Up next for Boutier will be match play on Wednesday with an opponent yet to be decided. 
Duke has registered two U.S. Women’s Amateur champions in the past as Amanda Blumenherst won in 2008 and Virada Nirapathpongporn in 2003.
