GoDuke.com: What has been your proudest moment at Duke? Sean Renfree: Probably winning against Virginia two years ago, that was fun. We won that late. Beat a good football team.
GoDuke.com: What is the most misunderstood thing about your sport?
SR: Probably preparation that goes into. I think people assuming you watch film, and all that, but they don't know how much game plans change from week to week. How much goes into it from a coaching perspective, and how much players have to adjust week to week. In terms of what our coaches do, their job is preparation.
GoDuke.com: What has been your favorite part of being a Duke student-athlete?
SR: I mean, obviously being on Duke's campus, being with so many diverse people, we are passionate about athletics, and also we have tremendous people in the classroom who are ready to contribute to society. Humanities are great.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite spot on campus?
SR: Probably the football facility, because that is what I love to do.
GoDuke.com: Any words of wisdom for freshman or future Blue Devils?
SR: Make the most of this. The coaching staff will give you a lot of great opportunities to do things on the field, and off the field you can get a great education and also compete at a high level. Take full advantage of that. A lot of guys don't do it until they get older.
GoDuke.com: Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
SR: My dad. He has always set a good example. He doesn't need to say a whole lot, I can just watch him and understand what's expected of me and what needs to be done, and what it means to be a man and to do the right thing.
GoDuke.com: If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
SR: Put it in the bank.
GoDuke.com: What is one possession you can't live without?
SR: Probably phone.
GoDuke.com: Any music on the IPod that is embarrassing?
SR: I don't have an IPod. I used to listen to Taylor Swift a little bit. I actually went to a concert. One of my buddies godparents got us free tickets so we went. It was interesting. It wasn't what I was expecting but it was fun.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite midnight snack?
SR: Probably waffles. Frozen waffles.
