DURHAM, N.C. – Like the Duke football and men’s basketball programs, the Blue Devil women’s basketball team will be using new technology this upcoming season. Duke women’s basketball has partnered with Global Apptitude and Apple to use a new digital playbook. While the Baltimore based company has multiple NFL and College Football programs on its resume, Duke is the first women’s basketball program to sign up.

They represent the future and are a model program that we hope others will follow in the future."
Each student-athlete on this year’s roster will be issued an iPad loaded with practice schedules, travel itineraries and video content.
Like its male counterparts, Duke will not place any restrictions on the iPads allowing the Blue Devils to use them to enhance their educational experience as well as provide some occasional entertainment with music and movie libraries, internet and social media site access.
“At Duke we are always interested in pursuing the highest level and having standards along the way,” said Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie. “I know that these iPads can help us get better and more efficient in all areas. Whether that is on the court, in the classroom, or for this instance, giving our coaching staff and our team the best advantages possible; we are excited about our partnership with Global Apptitude. Our entire program can access videos, schedules and scouting reports with the touch of a button from anywhere in the country.”
The iPads will remain the property of Duke University but each student-athlete will have the opportunity to purchase the iPad at market price upon their graduation.
