DURHAM, N.C.- For the second straight year, Blue Devil defender Natasha Anasi has earned All-America accolades as the 5-6 junior was named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women All-America second team.
Anasi, who is a produce of Arlington, Texas, started all 23 games for the Blue Devils at the center back position. She was a second team All-ACC selection in 2012 as she helped lead Duke to its second straight NCAA Elite Eight appearance along with a 15-6-2 record. Anasi registered two assists on the season and guided the Blue Devils to six shutouts on the year. She logged a team-high 2,017 minutes.
A first team All-America selection a year ago, Anasi became just the second Blue Devil to be named NSCAA All-America on multiple occasions. She joined Kelly Walbert, who was a three-time honoree from 1993-95.
Duke (15-6-2) advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second straight year and the fourth time out of the last six years, before falling, 1-0, at top-seeded Penn State.
