Setting the Scene...
 In a battle of two top 10 ranked teams, the fourth-ranked Duke women's basketball team (5-0) will host 10th-ranked California (6-0) on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2:00 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

 Sunday's contest will be aired live on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network on WDNC AM 620 with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) calling the action. 

 The game will be broadcast live on the Blue Devil Network via www.GoDuke.com.

 Following the game on Sunday, Duke will remain at home as the Blue Devils will open ACC action against Georgia Tech at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 6.

Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
 

  • Chelsea Gray had her consecutive free throws made streak come to an end at Michigan at a school-record 37.
 
  • Two of the top guards in the nation in terms of assists will hit the court on Sunday with Duke's Chelsea Gray (7.0 per game) and California's Brittany Boyd (6.7).
 
  • Tricia Liston needs only four more three-pointers to reach 100 for her career. She has hit at least one three-pointer in 12 straight games, which is the longest streak since Georgia Schweitzer hit treys in 25 straight in 2000-01.
 
  • When California and Duke play on Sunday, two high-scoring offenses will be on display. The Blue Devils are averaging 85.4 points, while the Golden Bears average 80.3 points. Both rank in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense.
 
  • After averaging 16.7 points the first three games, Tricia Liston has averaged only 7.5 the last two contests.
 
  • The Blue Devils are hitting 50.0 percent from downtown and feature four student-athletes hitting 50.0 percent or better from three-point land - Gray (53.8), Peters (50.0), Liston (55.0) and Jones (55.6).
 
  • It marks the first time since the 2005-06 season the Blue Devils registered 80 or more points in the opening four contests.
 
  • Duke hit a season-high 59.0 percent of its field goals at Xavier last Sunday.
 
  • The Blue Devils have had five different players lead them in scoring in five games.
 
  • Over the last three games, Elizabeth Williams has hit 23-of-28 field goals for a 82.1 percentage.
 
  • Freshman Alexis Jones pulled down a career high nine rebounds against Valparaiso and dished a career-high nine assists at Michigan.
 
  • The Blue Devils have won 57 straight home contests against unranked non-conference opponents.
 
  • Duke held Iona to 31 points, which marks the 18th time under Coach P the Blue Devils have held an opponent to under 40 points.
 
  • Duke opened the season with three straight home games for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
 
  • The 84 points in the season opener was the second-most by a Blue Devil team under Coach P in the opening contest of the season (second to 104 against Houston Baptist on Nov. 13, 2009).
 
  • Duke owns a 34-2 record against non-conference opponents at home in Cameron Indoor Stadium since the 2008-09 campaign. The Blue Devils have notched a 24-2 record in the month of December the last four years. Duke has won 43 straight home games in the month of December with the last loss coming to UCLA on Dec. 20, 1997 (83-93).

A Look at California...
 The Golden Bear's enter Sunday's matchup with an overall record of 6-0 after defeating Old Dominion, 63-47, on Friday, Nov. 30.  California started the season with five straight wins at home before kicking off its four game road trip with the game at Old Dominion. The Golden Bears concluded their homestand with a 72-56 win over Georgetown Nov. 24.

 Gennifer Brandon (14.3 points, 11.5 rebounds), Layshia Clarendon (13.0 points, 3.3 rebounds) and Brittany Boyd (11.8 points, 3.5 rebounds) have led the way in scoring for California this year.

 Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb enters her second season as head coach of the Golden Bear's after spending three years at the helm of UC - Santa Barbara. Last season, Gottlieb led the Golden Bears to a 25-10 overall record, and a 13-5 mark in the Pac-12 Conference.

California went back to the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 2009, with the Bears advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Duke Versus the Pac-12...
 Duke holds a record of 12-8 all-time against Pac-12 Teams -- Arizona State (1-0), California (1-1), Colorado (0-1), USC (5-0), Stanford (2-3), UCLA (2-1), Utah (1-0) and Washington (0-2).

 The last  meeting between Duke and a Pac-12 team came on March 26, 2012 when the No. 6 Blue Devils were edged by No. 2 Stanford, 81-69 in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

 McCallie owns a 10-5 record all-time against Pac-12 members.

Gray, Jemerigbe to Square Off...
 Duke guard Chelsea Gray will square off against her best friend Afure Jemerigbe of California on Sunday in Cameron. 

 Jemerigbe is a junior for the Golden Bears and has been friends with Gray since fifth grade.  The duo were McDonald's All-America selections and led St. Mary's H.S. to the Class 6A state championship as a senior with a 34-1 record.  Both are also from Stockton, Calif.

 Gray's cousin, Alexis Gray-Lawson, also played for California and went on to have a career in the WNBA.

Gray Posting Impressive Numbers...
 Junior Chelsea Gray is registering very impressive numbers once again this year.  Between her points scored and assists this season she is averaging 31.6 points a game of Duke's 85.4. 

 At Xavier, Gray contributed a season-high 44 of the Blue Devils' 82 points.  Gray is averaging 16.4 points per game and 15.2 points off assists. 

Against Ranked Opponents...
 Over the last four years in Cameron Indoor Stadium, the Blue Devils have registered a 23-2 record against ranked opponents. 

 The only losses were against Connecticut in 2012 and 2010. 

 Head coach Joanne P. McCallie has knocked off 10 top 10 ranked opponents at Duke over her six-year stint with the Blue Devils.

Stellar Passing Duo...
 The starting backcourt of Chelsea Gray and Alexis Jones is averaging a combined 12.6 assists per game and has dished 63 assists through the opening five contests.

 Jones' eight assists at Michigan is tied for the seventh-highest single-game total by a Duke freshman, while Gray dished 10 assists at Xavier for her fifth career game with double-digit dimes.

Williams Starts at Michigan...
 Sophomore Elizabeth Williams made her first start of the season at Michigan and was impressive with a team-high 19 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, one steal and one assist in a season-high 29 minutes.

 She  came off the bench in the first four games as she is recovering from a stress fracture in her leg, which occurred prior to the 2012 NCAA Tournament. 
 In the last four games, Williams has an average of 17.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.0 assists.

 Williams is hitting 66.0 percent of her field goals on the season and leads Duke with 18 offensive rebounds.

Jones Named ACC Rookie of the Week...
 Duke freshman Alexis Jones was named the ACC Rookie of the Week on Monday after helping lead the fourth-ranked Blue Devils to a pair of victories this past week versus Valparaiso and at Xavier.

 Jones, a product of Midland, Texas, averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals in the two contests.  In her first collegiate road game, Jones tallied a career-high 14 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes at Xavier.  She hit 6-of-10 field goals and 2-of-2 from downtown, while her two three-pointers made were a career high. 

 In the contest against Valparaiso, Jones had seven points, a career-high nine rebounds, four assists and four steals.  For the week, she hit 3-of-4 from downtown.

Home Sweet Home...
 Since Joanne P. McCallie took over as head coach at Duke in 2007-08, she has guided the Blue Devils to a 73-5 overall record in Cameron Indoor Stadium.  During that stretch, the Blue Devils posted a 14-0 mark in 2008-09 and a 17-0 ledger in 2010-11, which was only the second and third undefeated home seasons in school history.

 Duke's loss to Connecticut last year snapped a school-record 34-game winning streak in Cameron.  It was only the second loss at home over the last 64 games.  Duke has won 73 out of the last 78 contests, 87 out of the last 92 and 168 out of the last 179 games since 2000-01.

 The other top win streaks at home have been -- 34 (2010-12), 24 (2005-06 through 2007-08; 2007-08 through 2009-10; 21 (2001-02 through 2002-03), 20 (2003-04 through 2004-05) and 16 (1998-99 through 1999-2000).
