Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...

  • Duke enters Sunday with a 24-game win streak on the road against unranked opponents.

  • Chelsea Gray needs only four more steals to move into a tie for 10th on Duke's all-time steals chart. She owns 200 over her three years.

  • Over the last two games, Elizabeth Williams is averaging only 8.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots. She missed notching double-figure scoring in back-to-back games for only the second time in her career.

  • Duke has dished its lowest two assist numbers during the last two games -- 11 at N.C. State and 13 against Monmouth. Prior to that, the Blue Devils were averaging 19.3 assists a game.

  • Chelsea Gray was averaging over 6.0 assists a game prior to the Monmouth game, but has dished only six assists the last two contests to drop her per game average to 5.8.

  • After holding Monmouth to only 32 points on Dec. 30, head coach Joanne P. McCallie has held 21 different opponents to under 40 points since arriving at Duke in 2007-08.

  • The Blue Devils registered a 3.3 grade-point average in the fall semester, which included five student-athletes with above a 3.5 GPA. A total of 11 Blue Devils had a 3.0 or better.

  • Duke registered six different players with double-figure scoring against CSU Bakersfield. Now nine Blue Devils have scored double-figures at least one time this year.

  • Duke has hit 50.0 percent or better from the field in four different games.

  • The Blue Devils own five different student-athletes hitting over 40.0 percent or better from downtown -- Tricia Liston (46.2), Chelsea Gray (42.9), Haley Peters (45.0), Chloe Wells (44.4) and Alexis Jones (41.2).

  • Elizabeth Williams has blocked at least one shot in every collegiate game she has played - 45 straight. The streak is the second-best in school history behind Alison Bales' 55 in 2003-05.

  • Tricia Liston had her streak of 18 straight games with at least one three-pointer come to an end at N.C. State on Jan. 3. It was the longest streak since Georgia Schweitzer hit 25 straight treys in 2000-01.

  • In dissecting the top shot blockers in the nation, Elizabeth Williams is the only underclassman to rank in the top eight in the country.

  • Chelsea Gray came close to registering her second career triple-double against California on Dec. 2 with 13 points, nine assists and eight rebounds as well as 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists against CSU Bakersfield.

  • The Blue Devils registered 70 or more points in the opening seven contests for the first time since 2005-06.

Double-Double Machine...
Haley Peters collected a double-double in her second straight game at N.C. State on Thursday and now owns three this season.  Peters came into the season with only one double-double over her first two years.

Over the last two games, Peters is averaging 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.5 blocks.  She had 18 points and 11 boards at N.C. State, while notching 11 points and 10 rebounds versus Monmouth.

Peters is averaging 11.0 rebounds in her first two ACC games, which ranks fifth overall in league action.

Undefeated Teams...
Duke is one of only three undefeated teams left in NCAA Division I - Colorado and Connecticut.

Both Programs Undefeated...
With the men's basketball team boasting a 13-0 record and the women's basketball team with an 12-0 mark, Duke is the only program in the country with both its men's and women's basketball teams with undefeated marks.

Bench Depth Improving...
After opening the season with only eight scholarship players healthy, the Blue Devils have now boosted the number to 10 with the return of Chloe Wells and Richa Jackson.

Amber Henson is still recovering from surgery last season and a return date has not been set yet.

Scoring Blue Devils...
Duke boasts nine different Blue Devils that have registered double-figure scoring this season.  The Blue Devils are one of only four ACC schools who have done this -- Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia and N.C. State.

The Blue Devils also have five different student-athletes who have posted 20 or more points in a game this year joined only by Florida State.

Duke is the only team in the ACC to have both nine double-figure scorers and five players who have scored 20 or more points in a game this season.

Duke & NCAA Records Set...
When Duke held Monmouth to only three points in the first half on Dec. 30, the Blue Devils tied a NCAA record for fewest points allowed in the first half.

The Blue Devil defense tied Florida State (vs. Savannah State,11-23-03) and Georgia Tech (vs. Tennessee State, 12-30-10), who also held its opponents to three points in the first half.

Duke also set a new Blue Devil record by holding Monmouth to 4.0 percent shooting in the first half.  The previous school record was seven points vs. Ball State on Dec. 20, 2004 and the 4.0 percent shooting bested the previous low of 9.1 percent by Ball State (12-19-2005) and Stephen F. Austin (11-26-04).

What Happened Last Time...
Chelsea Gray went into her three-minute offense and helped No. 5 Duke avoid a shocking, last-minute upset.  With the Blue Devils leading 61-60, Gray scored eight of their last 10 points in that span and they beat Boston College 71-62 on Feb. 9, 2012 in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Duke was led by Gray with 19 points and Elizabeth Williams with 18 points and 10 rebounds, her sixth double-double of the season. Haley Peters added 16 points.  BC was led by Kristen Doherty with 17 and Shayra Brown with 12.

Gray hit a jumper that gave Duke a 61-55 lead with 3:22 left. But BC closed that to 61-60 on a 3-pointer by Tessah Holt and two free throws by Katie Zenevitch.

Gray then made a 3-pointer, Doherty hit a layup for BC and Gray sank another 3-pointer, making it 67-62 with 1:28 to play. The Blue Devils finished with a short hook by Peters and two free throws by Gray.

BC led for the last time at 18-16 before Duke scored the next 11 points to take a 27-18 lead 4:43 before intermission. But the Eagles rallied by scoring the last eight points of the half and trailed just 32-31.

Duke added to its lead at the start of the second half but couldn't pull away.

With the score 39-33, the teams alternated baskets until the Blue Devils went ahead 52-44 on a 3-pointer by Gray with 11:09 to go. Then the Eagles scored the next four points on two free throws by Brown and a layup by Tiffany Ruffin, cutting the lead to 52-48 with 10:11 remaining.

The lead was back up to 59-52 when the Eagles scored again on 3-pointer by Kerri Shields. But after a steal by Peters, Gray hit her short jumper that opened a six-point advantage and started her late-game surge.

The 6-foot-3 Williams dominated inside early with layups on seven of Duke's first 10 shots. But BC clogged the middle after that and held her to just four points the rest of the way.

That opened up the perimeter, though, and Duke hit six of its seven 3-point shots in the second half.

Undefeated Starts...
The Blue Devils have registered an 12-0 start to the season for only the sixth time in school history.  If Duke wins on Sunday at Boston College, it would mark the fifth time in school history the Blue Devils would have started 13-0.

 Duke's 12-0 start is the second-best kick-off to the season under Coach P. (20-0 in 2010-11).
