MIAMI, Fla. - Duke's Lindy Duncan turned in a round of 78 on Friday on day two of the 2013 Copa de las Americas and the United States slipped to fifth overall heading into day three of four at the Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, Fla.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., struggled on the opening nine holes on Friday as the senior was seven-over-par on holes 10-18, after the U.S. started the day on the back nine.  She turned it around on the final nine holes as she shot one-under-par with a birdie on the 357-yard, par four third hole.  Duncan ranks 27th overall with a 10-over-par ledger through 36 holes.

The United States is in fifth with a two-day total of 597 to rank fifth overall.  Canada holds the team lead with a score of 590, while Argentina (591), Colombia (592) and Mexico (594) are ahead of the U.S.

In women's play, Argentina and Canada lead with a 300, but the United States are just two strokes off the lead with a 302.  Mexico and Colombia are tied for fourth with a 305.
