DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomore
goaltender Kyle Turri of the 13th-ranked Duke men’s lacrosse team was named the
Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Defensive Player of the Week for the first time
in his young career, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
of West Islip, N.Y., Turri turned in a stellar performance with a .657 save
percentage and a 6.06 goals against average in a week that the Blue Devils went
2-0. In his second start of the year, Turri made nine stops on 17 shots faced
and picked up three ground balls in an 11-8 win at No. 8 North Carolina.
Three days later, the sophomore had a career-high 15 saves
on 19 shots in a 12-4 victory over Towson, while picking up five ground balls
