DURHAM, N.C. – Junior attackman Jordan Wolf scored four goals while senior midfielder David Lawson carded three goals and two assists as 13th-ranked Duke defeated visiting Georgetown, 19-7, in men’s lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium. The win pushes the Blue Devils’ win streak to five games.

Duke’s Brendan Fowler continued his fine play at the faceoff X by securing 15-of-19 draws.  The Blue Devils held distinct advantages in both shots (46-28) and ground balls (40-20) on the day. This marks the second consecutive game Duke has registered 19 goals after being Marist 19-11 earlier in the week.

The Blue Devils (7-4) opened the game with four straight goals and led 4-1 following one period.  A pair of three-goal spurts in the second quarter sandwiched around two Georgetown markers gave Duke a 10-3 lead at intermission.  In the opening half, Duke had nine different players find the back of the net with Josh Dionne tallying a team-best two goals.

Duke came out and added four unanswered to start the third quarter in a dominant period that saw Wolf score three times and Lawson twice to push the lead to 16-4.  Each squad scored three goals in the final quarter to account for the 12-goal margin.

Dionne, Case Matheis and Jake Tripucka netted two goals apiece to compliment Lawson and Wolf.  Josh Offit handed out a team-best three assists while Dionne and Christian Walsh added two helpers each.

In the Duke net, starter Kyle Turri was credited for five saves against two goals allowed in his three quarters of action.

For Georgetown (3-5), Jason McFadden led the way with three goals and one assist while Joe Bucci tossed in a pair of markers.  Goalkeeper Jake Haley made 11 saves while allowing all 19 goals.

Duke travels to face Harvard on Friday night.  Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised by NBC Sports Network.
