DURHAM, N.C. – Duke’s women’s tennis head coach Jamie Ashworth announced the fall schedule for the 2013-14 season on Wednesday. The Blue Devils are slated to compete in six tournaments this fall, beginning with the Duke Invitational Sept. 13-15 in Cary, N.C., where returning senior Hanna Mar will look to defend her singles championship from a year ago.
Duke will then travel to Pacific Palisades, Calif., to participate in the Riviera All-American competition, before returning to Chapel Hill, N.C. Oct. 17-21 to compete in the ITA Regionals Championship. Mar will once again look to defend both her singles and doubles championship, alongside junior Ester Goldfeld at the ITA Regionals.
Following ITA Regionals, the Blue Devils will leave North Carolina to compete in the USTA Collegiate Invitational Oct. 24-27 in Orlando, Fla., before continuing the competition a week later in Portland, Ore., Nov. 1-3. The fall season will conclude in New York, N.Y., with the ITA National Indoors competition Nov. 7-10.
The Duke women’s tennis team will return six members of last year’s team.
