REDDING, Calif.– After a day off to rest at the Ascension Project Women’s Challenger, Duke University women’s tennis sophomore Beatrice Capra downed Caitlin Whoriskey, 6-1, 6-2, to move on to the second round of the singles main draw in Redding, Calif.
Capra will next face third-seeded Chanel Simmonds on Thursday, after Simmonds defeated Michelle Sammons, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5.
The Ascension Project Women’s Challenger will go through Sunday, Sept. 15. It is a USTA Pro Circuit Event Presented by Cresswell Physical Therapy and hosted by Sun Oaks Tennis & Fitness.
