DURHAM, N.C. – Following a school-record 10 wins and an appearance in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, Duke closed the 2013 season ranked in both major national polls which were released following Florida State’s national championship game win over Auburn.
The Blue Devils earned a final national ranking of No. 22 in the USA Today/Coaches poll, while the Associated Press logged Duke at No. 23 in its poll. The last time Duke received a final national ranking was in 1962 when the UPI slotted the Blue Devils at No. 14.
Led by National Coach of the Year selection David Cutcliffe, Duke finished with a 10-4 overall record while capturing the ACC’s Coastal Division championship for the first time since the league shifted to divisional play in 2005.
