He finished his illustrious career with All-America honors and a school record 2,951 yards and 20 touchdowns plus appearances in the Hula Bowl and East-West Shrine Classic.
A sophomore All-America by Football News in 1970, Jones set 11 single game, season and career standards during his illustrious career.
Jones went on to play seven years in the NFL for Buffalo and St. Louis before retiring in 1979 after undergoing neck surgery.
