  • Drafted in the 47th (1407th overall) round of the MLB Draft as a junior by the San Francisco Giants
  • Led Duke in relief appearances for the third straight year, appearing 25 times out of the bullpen
  • Had the fourth lowest ERA among ACC relievers who threw at least 40 innings
  • Went 2-2 with a 2.44 ERA and three saves
  • Threw 44.1 innings, striking out 38 and walking 11

  • Averaged just 2.8 walks per nine innings while averaging 7.0 strikeouts per nine
  • Retired 15 straight batters over two appearances against Georgia Tech
  • Logged four straight appearances of three innings from March 23 to April 11, all of which were against ACC opponents
  • Gave up just one home run all year and had the lowest home run per game average among Duke pitchers with at least 25 innings pitched
  • Held a 0.00 ERA through his eight appearances against non-ACC opponents
  • Earned a three-inning save against N.C. State after protecting a 4-1 Duke lead in the series opener (4/11)
  • Played with the Pittsfield Dukes of the New England Collegiate Baseball League and was named to the NECBL All-Star team after going 6-1 with a 1.41 ERA through 57.1 innings
  • Named NECBL Pitcher Of The Week for the final week of the season

2007

  • Became one of the top options out of the bullpen as a freshman, making 23 appearances for the second most on the team
  • Went 4-3 with a 4.97 ERA through 58.0 innings, allowing 66 hits and 32 earned runs
  • Fanned 41 batters while walking 15
  • Tied for the ACC lead in fewest walks allowed
  • Named ACC Player of the Week on March 5
  • Had only one wild pitch all season
  • Averaged 6.36 strikeouts per nine innings compared to 2.33 walks
  • Had a scoreless streak of six straight innings over three appearances, all of which were against ACC opponents
  • Allowed the third fewest hits in the conference among pitchers with at least 35.0 innings pitched
  • Named to the Atlantic Baseball Confederation's All-Star Team during the summer after posting a 2.37 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP through 13 appearances for the Jersey Shore Tides
  • Gave up one earned run or less in eight of his nine starts
  • Led the team with 35 strikeouts and contributed six scoreless outings from the bullpen.
