FORT WORTH, Texas ? The No. 2 Duke women's basketball team (7-0) used Sean Dockery's 45-foot game-winner over Virginia Tech as inspiration to practice their long-range shots over the past two days.
It paid off as Lindsey Harding hit a 35-foot shot as time ran out in the otherwise dismal first half and the Blue Devils would go on outscore the TCU Horned Frogs (2-5) by 31 in the second half for a 92-52 victory Tuesday night here at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Up just one point at 28-27, sophomore Laura Kurz hit a three-pointer with less than a minute remaining in the first half and then got a steal and lay-up just 20 seconds later before Harding's buzzer-beater gave Duke an 8-0 run to end the first stanza up 36-27.
Nine Blue Devils scored at least eight points as sophomore Laura Kurz led the way with 15 points, including a 3-of-6 performance from behind the arc. Kurz also grabbed five rebounds and got two steals on defense in just 18 minutes of action.

Abby Waner's four points rounded out the Duke scoring and she added five rebounds and three assists to her stat line. Smith finished with a game high six assists while Harding dished out four.
Duke would out-rebound the Frogs 58-25 even though no Blue Devil grabbed more than eight but all 11 Blue Devils had at least one and 10 of the 11 grabbed at least three. Black led the way with eight while Harding and Currie had six each and Kurz and Williams joined Abby Waner with five apiece.
TCU led the game for the first 11 minutes of the game before Kurz nailed a three-pointer to put Duke up 10-9 eight minutes into the first half. Duke would hold the lead for the remainder of the half but couldn't push the lead to more than four until the final minute of the half.
The second-half was all Duke. Currie hit a three-pointer and a pair of free throws in an early 10-0 run in the second half to push the lead to 48-30 and then Harding hit a lay-up less than four minutes into the half to give the Blue Devils their first 20 point lead at 52-32.
Duke would hold TCU scoreless for six minutes in a 14-0 run that put Duke up 75-42 with just over six minutes remaining. Gay scored six points in the run that started with another Kurz three-pointer. TCU briefly got the lead under 30 before a 9-0 run highlighted by four points from Currie gave Duke an 87-48 lead with just over two minutes remaining. Foley scored six of the final seven points for the Blue Devils final 40-point margin.
