The freshmen men also continued with their great contributions, as Andrew Clark took second in the 1000 free (9:41.46) and the 500 free (4:45.98), Tim McKeever took second in the 200 back (1:54.43) and several other Blue Devil newcomers took third in their respective events.

Duke falls to 2-3 (1-2 ACC) on the year with the loss.
“Western Kentucky is a good team,” said Duke head coach Dan Colella. “They came out and took first through third in a few events and there you have the outcome. I was proud of the guys. A few people really stepped up today.”
The Duke swimming and diving teams will begin the second half of their season on Jan. 2, 2007, as the men and women travel to the Jamaican Holiday Invitational. The Blue Devils' first home meet of the new year will be held on Jan. 13 versus Davidson, with action set to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion.
