Kansas & Stanford Added To Future Gridiron Schedules

Duke has added series with both Kansas and Stanford to its future football schedules.

The Blue Devils will host Kansas in 2009 and visit the Jayhawks a season later. Duke and Kansas have never met on the gridiron.

The series with Stanford includes a tilt in Durham in 2011 and a visit by the Blue Devils to Palo Alto in 2012. Duke and Stanford have met two times, with games coming in 1971 and 1972. The Blue Devils' 9-3 win at 10th-ranked Stanford in 1971 vaulted Duke to a No. 14 national ranking the following week. The game featured Ernie Jackson, who returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown for the winning points.

The following season, Stanford downed the Blue Devils by a 10-6 count at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Duke's 2007 and 2008 schedules are complete with 12 games while the 2009 and 2010 ledgers have 11 contests set with one to be determined.
