DURHAM, N.C. - Junior Marian Dickinson has been honored as the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring four goals in two Duke victories over nationally ranked opponents this past weekend.
Dickinson started both games for the Blue Devils on the road this weekend against then-No. 10 Boston College and then-No. 14 Boston University. Versus the Eagles on Friday night, the midfielder scored the final two goals in the Blue Devils' 3-2 win, as Duke secured its first ACC victory of the year. Against the Terriers on Sunday afternoon, Dickinson again tallied two scores, as she found the net just before halftime to give Duke a 2-1 lead at the break, and again in overtime for another 3-2 Blue Devil triumph.
The Alberta, Canada, native has six goals and six assists for 18 points this season, as she currently ranks tops on the squad in all three statistical categories. Dickinson has also netted a team-high-tying two game-winning goals.
No. 12 Duke (7-5, 1-2 ACC) will close out its home season on Saturday, Oct. 6, as the Blue Devils take on defending NCAA champion and No. 2 Maryland (12-0, 3-0 ACC) at 1 p.m. at Williams Field.
