BALTIMORE - The top-seeded and second-ranked Duke men's lacrosse team will play third-seeded and fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins in the NCAA championship game on Monday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. Face-off is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be televised live on ESPN.
CHAMPIONSHIP MONDAY
Duke will face Johns Hopkins in the NCAA championship game on Monday at 1 p.m. ... The game will be televised live by ESPN ... The championship game appearance marks the second for the Blue Devils, who fell to Johns Hopkins in 2005, 9-8 ... Duke is 12-10 all-time in NCAA Tournament play including a 1-1 ledger versus the Blue Jays ... Duke and Johns Hopkins met in the 1997 quarterfinals (12-11, Duke, OT) and 2005 championship (9-8, Johns Hopkins) ... Duke is one of just eight programs to have an overall winning record in postseason play, joining Cornell (24-17), Johns Hopkins (60-27), Maryland (39-28), North Carolina (25-18), Princeton (30-10), Syracuse (50-18) and Virginia (37-26).
SEMIFINAL WIN OVER CORNELL
The top-seeded and second-ranked Blue Devils advanced to Monday's title game with a 12-11 win over fourth-seeded and top-ranked Cornell ... Zack Greer netted the game-winner with three seconds remaining after the Big Red had rallied from a seven-goal deficit to tie the game at 11-11 with just 17 seconds on the clock ... Following Cornell's game-tying marker, Duke's Terrence Molinari won the ensuing face-off and shoveled a pass to Peter Lamade ... Lamade then drove to the goal before feeding Greer, who deposited his fourth goal of the game to secure the victory ... Greer also added an assist for a game-high five points ... Ned Crotty and Brad Ross each added two goals for the Blue Devils while Dan Loftus carded 17 saves in the Duke net ... For the Big Red, David Mitchell had four goals as Cornell's 15-game winning streak came to an end.
REGULAR SEASON TILT WITH JOHNS HOPKINS
On April 7 in Baltimore, Duke received six goals from Zack Greer en route to registering an 11-9 win over Johns Hopkins ... The Blue Devils scored three straight goals to open the second half, pushing a 6-5 halftime lead to a 9-5 advantage on Greer's goal at the 12:33 mark ... The Blue Jays would get no closer than two goals the rest of the way ... Greer added an assist on the day while Matt Danowski chipped in one goal and four assists ... Johns Hopkins was led by Stephen Peyser's two-goal, two-assist performance ... In goal, Duke's Dan Loftus made 13 saves while Hopkins' Jesse Schwartzman was credited with 12.
TEAM MILESTONES
Against Cornell, the Blue Devils pushed their current winning streak to a school record 12 games, bettering the previous mark of 11 set in 2005 ... Duke picked up its 17th victory of the season versus Cornell, matching the NCAA single-season standard also held by the 2005 Duke, 2006 Hofstra and 2006 Virginia squads ... Duke has won six of its last seven NCAA Tournament games ... With the 12-11 win over Cornell, Duke snapped a string of four straight one-goal losses in NCAA Tournament action ... GOALS FOR GREER
Junior attackman Zack Greer scored four goals in Duke's semifinal win over Cornell to match the individual record for goals in an NCAA Tournament with 16, equaling the single-tournament record set by Virginia's Matt Ward in 2006 ... Greer now has 67 goals on the year for the third-highest single-season total in NCAA history, trailing only Jon Reese of Yale (82 in 1990) and Gary Gait of Syracuse (70 in 1988) ... With 26 career goals in seven NCAA Tournament contests, Greer ranks tied for ninth on the all-time chart for postseason tallies ... Greer's 26 goals are the second-most to be scored in seven tournament games, trailing only Cornell's Mike French who scored 28 goals in seven NCAA games from 1974-76.

Matt Danowski and Zack Greer have become just the second pair of teammates to top the 90-point barrier in the same season ... Danowski has 94 points on 43 goals and 51 assists while Greer has 93 points on 67 goals and 26 assists ... The other duo to accomplish the feat was Cornell's Mike French (96 points) and Eamon McEneaney (95 points) in 1975 ... With 187 combined points this season, Danowski and Greer stand four points short of matching the NCAA record for combined points by two teammates ? a standard of 191 held by French and McEneaney.
FIRST MIDFIELD
Duke's first midfield line ? senior Peter Lamade, junior Brad Ross & sophomore Ned Crotty ? combined for four goals and four assists in the Blue Devils' semifinal win over Cornell ... Ross and Crotty each posted two goals and one assist while Lamade had two helpers including the feed on Zack Greer's game-winning tally with just three seconds left in the contest ... For the year, both Crotty (22) and Ross (20) have reached the 20-goal plateau while Lamade is third on the squad in assists with 11 ... The trio has a combined 78 points on 51 goals and 27 assists on the season.
NICK O'HARA
First team All-America long stick midfielder Nick O'Hara enjoyed success on both ends of the field in Saturday's victory over Cornell ... On defense, the Orchard Park, N.Y., limited his primary assignment, first team All-America midfielder Max Seibald, to just one assist ... At the other end, O'Hara scored his fifth goal of the year, a tally that came with 28 seconds left in the second quarter and sent the teams into halftime with Duke ahead, 7-3 ... Three of O'Hara's 10 career goals have come in NCAA Tournament action ... In addition, O'Hara scooped up four ground balls in the semifinals to push his season total to 82 as he is on pace to lead the Blue Devils in ground balls for the third consecutive season.
DUKE'S DEFENSIVE UNIT
The Blue Devils are led defensively by first team All-America defenseman Casey Carroll along with a pair of third team selections in defenseman Tony McDevitt and goalkeeper Dan Loftus ... Carroll ranks third on the team with his 64 ground balls on the year ... Loftus is 25-5 as a starter for Duke and holds a 7.45 goals against average and a .624 save percentage this season ... On Saturday, Duke held Cornell ? the top scoring team in the nation entering the weekend ? to 3.2 goals below its season average (14.2) and blanked the Big Red for a span of 29:02 midway through the contest.
NCAA TOURNAMENT SCORING RECORDS
With 22 total points through three NCAA games this season, Matt Danowski has moved into a tie for fourth place on the event's chart for individual points ... Eamon McEneaney (1977) and Tim Goldstein (1987), both of Cornell, hold the record with 25 points ... For scoring duos in NCAA Tournament action, Danowski (22) and Zack Greer (20) have combined for 42 points to rank second behind the 43 points totaled by Gary Gait (23) and Tom Marechek (20) of Syracuse in 1990 ... Danowski, Greer and Brad Ross (9) have combined for 51 points in the 2007 tournament to rank third behind Syracuse's trio of Gait, Marechek and Greg Burns (16) (43 points in 1990) and Duke's unit of Danowski (21), Dan Flannery (19) and Greer (14) (54 in 2005).
TERRENCE MOLINARI
Throughout the 2007 season, Duke has utilized five individuals to handle the face-off chores ... Through the 16-game regular season, freshman Terrence Molinari had taken just 25 draws (winning 17), fifth-fewest on the club ... After securing four-of-seven face-offs in the opening round win over Providence, Molinari won 11-of-18 draws in Duke's quarterfinal victory over North Carolina ... While the rookie won just nine-of-20 face-offs overall against Cornell, his victory and ground ball with 17 seconds left in the game led to Zack Greer's game-winning goal ... Molinari has won 24-of-45 (.533) face-offs through three NCAA Tournament games and 41-of-70 (.586) overall on the year.
BLUE DEVIL FRESHMEN
Despite having only three scholarship freshmen on its roster, Duke has gotten significant contributions from its rookie class in 2007 ... Max Quinzani has joined a pair of first team All-America selections (Matt Danowski & Zack Greer) in the Blue Devils' starting attack unit and ranks fifth on the team in scoring with 26 points on 22 goals and four assists ... Parker McKee, who has 40 ground balls on the season, is Duke's top defenseman off the bench and netted his second goal of the year during Duke's 8-0 run in Saturday's semifinal win over Cornell ... Lastly, Terrence Molinari has emerged as Duke's top face-off specialist in the postseason.
ALL-AMERICA
Led by four first team selections, a total of seven Blue Devils have earned All-America honors from the USILA ... Casey Carroll, Matt Danowski, Zack Greer and Nick O'Hara were named to the first unit while Dan Loftus and Tony McDevitt were tabbed to the third team ... Brad Ross received honorable mention recognition ... It marks the first time Duke has placed four individuals on the first team, bettering the previous high of three in 2005 ... Also a first team pick in 2005, Danowski joins Charles Gilifillan (1948 & 51), Stephen Card (1999-00) and Kevin Cassese as the only two-time first squad selections in Duke history.

The 2007 ACC Coach of the Year, John Danowski is in his first season at the helm of the Blue Devils ... Now in his 25th season as a head coach, Danowski is 236-141 including a 7-8 ledger in NCAA Tournament play ...
