NEW YORK ? Josh McRoberts was selected with the seventh pick of the second round (37th overall) by the Portland Trail Blazers in Thursday's NBA Draft, becoming the 39th player selected in the draft under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. McRoberts, who entered the draft after his sophomore year with the Blue Devils, is the 72nd overall NBA draft pick in Duke history.
During his sophomore season, McRoberts was Duke's second-leading scorer (13.0) while also leading the team in rebounds (7.9 rpg.), blocks (2.5 bpg.) and field goal percentage (.502 ? 164-of-327). The Carmel, Ind., native was also second on the team in assists (114) and tied for second in steals with 39. McRoberts, a second team All-ACC selection, was the only player in the NCAA to average at least 10.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 3.5 assists per game last season.
